2 PM Matinee – The King at the Movies (1956-1969)

Starting with “Love Me Tender” in 1956 through 1969’s “Change of Habit” the King changed the face of American cinema.  It’s hard to explain to modern fans how important those movies were. There were no live concerts. The only chance one had, or ever hoped to have, of seeing their idol was on the movie screen. Each of his 31 cinematic films brought new Elvis music and allowed his adoring fans the opportunity to spend two hours with the very first American Idol.  Join us as we kick off the 2021 Georgia Tribute Festival with a tribute to the music from the King’s celluloid history. Irv Cass will serve as master of ceremonies and the Change of Habit tribute band will back the show!  Doors open one hour prior.
